This page is designed to answer the following questions:
- 4.3 Propose ways to enhance own contribution to promoting personalisation (Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care, Understand Personalisation in Care and Support Services)
NOTE: This page has been quality assured for 2023 as per our Quality Assurance policy.
For this assessment criterion, you will be required to propose ways to enhance your own contribution to the promotion of personalisation.
This could involve reflecting on your current practice and identifying areas for improvement. You may also decide to analyse feedback received from others about your performance, including complaints/comments/compliments from service users and their families.
For example, you may work with individuals that appear to lack the motivation to participate in their care planning and so decide to try to increase the levels of participation across your organisation by researching the reasons for the disinterest and formulating ways to overcome the barriers.
Or, following reflective practice, you may realise that sometimes you feel rushed to complete care tasks and so complete them yourself on behalf of a service user rather than encouraging their independence. So, moving forwards, you resolve to ensure that you reserve enough time to complete care tasks in a way that promotes independence, thereby prioritising personalisation in your practice.
