By focusing on the outcomes that are important to the individual, you will be carrying out your role in a person-centred way and ensure that they have choice and control in their lives. An outcomes-based approach can also ensure that an individual’s needs are met in a way that works for them.

This can have a positive effect on the individual’s confidence, self-esteem and well-being because they will feel that they are valued and respected. It will also ensure that care services are supporting them to achieve the outcomes that are meaningful to them. Consequently, their quality of life will be improved.
