NOTE: Although this page has been marked as complete, it has not yet been peer-reviewed or quality-assured, therefore it should be considered a ‘first draft‘ and any information should be fact-checked independently.
For this assessment criterion, you will be required to explain how outcome-based practice can impact an individuals life.
By focusing on the outcomes that are important to the individual, you will be carrying out your role in a person-centred way and ensure that they have choice and control in their lives. An outcomes-based approach can also ensure that an individual’s needs are met in a way that works for them.
This can have a positive effect on the individual’s confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing because they will feel that they are valued and respected as well as ensuring that care services are supporting them to achieve the outcomes that are meaningful to them. Consequently, their quality of life will be improved.
