Develop, implement and review strategies that support positive value-based cultures in teams

This page is designed to answer the following questions:

NOTE: This page has been quality assured for 2024 as per our Quality Assurance policy.

For this assessment criterion, you will be required to develop, implement and review strategies that support a positive, values-based culture within your team.

This can include strategies for action planning and reviewing your team against the service vision and related achievements and ensuring a commitment by all team members to a values-based team culture in support of the service vision.

In essence, you will need to demonstrate that you undertake activities that promote the values-based culture of your organisation within your team.

At the planning stage, you will collaborate with a group of stakeholders to identify what changes need to be made and establish the boundaries based on the values and culture of the organisation. By ensuring that everyone understands the core values of the organisation, goals can be set which align with the organisation’s overarching vision.

Once goals and objectives have been established, you will put the plan into action. This will involve effectively communicating the plan to team members and explaining the reasons for the decisions that have been made – because decisions will be based on the organisation’s values and vision, you will have the opportunity to promote and reinforce them within the team. You should also listen to and value the views of team members and be prepared to answer any questions that they ask.

Finally, all plans, goals and objectives should be regularly reviewed to ensure that they are on target or if they need to be updated. They should also be checked regularly to ensure that they are still aligned with the organisation’s vision and values.
