This page is designed to answer the following questions:
- 2.4 Manage resources to ensure that reviews of individual’s preferences, wishes, needs and strengths are valued within the achievement of positive outcomes (Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, Person-centred Practice for Positive Outcomes)
NOTE: This page has been quality assured for 2023 as per our Quality Assurance policy.
For this assessment criterion, you will be required to demonstrate how you manage resources to ensure that reviews of an individual’s preferences, wishes, needs and strengths are valued within the achievement of positive outcomes.
Essentially, this means managing resources (such as staff and money) to ensure that your organisation is able to facilitate the needs of individuals and support them to achieve positive outcomes.
For example, if an individual’s mobility deteriorates, you may need to ensure that two members of staff are available to assist with their personal care. Or, if several individuals do a lot of shared activities together, you may consider investing in a minibus rather than each service user arranging their own transport.
Because resources throughout the whole of the health and social care sector are often limited, you will need to look at creative and innovative ways to maximise your use of them whilst still promoting a person-centred and outcomes-based approach to your practice.
